KBH is an unprincipled RINO. Medina is unelectable. Perry has been good 95% of the time, and Texas is doing well under him, so why switch horses in midstream.

To Rachel: When I wrote the words « Islamic "leaders" » I did not believe that anyone would think that I meant the leaders of countries such as the king of Saudi Arabia or any other government leader of a predominantly Muslim country! But it appears that that might be what you thought. I did not mean leaders of countries, but rather leaders in the Islamic religion. I thought that was fairly clear. In my post I put the word "leaders" in quotes because Islam does not have any well-defined religious hierarchy, such as the Roman Catholic church has. Islamic religious "leaders" are sometimes referred to as Imams, Mullahs, noted Islamic clerics or scholars, and a few other "titles". As to these types of "leaders", there have been at least hundreds of them who have called for the destruction of infidels, and you need only spend some research time on the Internet in order to find them. They are hardly "elusive", except when they go into hiding. One has to be ignorant of recent global history not to be aware of this. As just one example, there is Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, who while in Britain called for harmful action against various infidels, including death to the Pope.
Yes, I know that over one billion people are Muslims. (In fact, Islam is perhaps the world's fastest growing religion.) But given the intent and content of my blog post, so what? And yes, I could just as "easily" have said that all those involved in 9/11 were male, with high testosterone levels, but so what? Are you implying that therefore I should recommend profiling all males when searching for possible Islamic terrorists and for information on these terrorists? If so, that would be irrational. And if you do not understand that, then there is nothing that I can say. Apparently you do not understand that because you said that "We already know that racial profiles do not work"; but that is incorrect. "Profiling" is not guaranteed to work, especially if mismanaged or used incorrectly, but it usually does "work", at least in the sense that it increases the chances of success while making better use of our limited resources. And yes, racial profiling can be subverted by using blond-haired, blue-eyed recruits, but it is very difficult for Islamic terrorists to recruit such people; they are far and few between. Therefore it still makes rational sense to use "profiling" in an attempt to better combat Islamic terrorism with our limited resources.
As to my alleged "sense of xenophobia", a xenophobe is one who is unduly fearful of people of foreign origin. Am I fearful of people who appear to be Hispanic? No. (I'm more fearful of Americans who are intensely and extremely devoted to Christianity.) Am I fearful of people who appear to be from the Middle East, with a Semitic appearance common to Arabs? Yes ! And this is not UNDUE fear but instead JUSTIFIED fear. Why? Because of the recent history of Muslims and the harm that some of them have caused to western civilization. If you do not understand that, then it is useless for me to write anymore in this comment.
I was going to conclude by putting references to web sites which give many details and stories on the harm that some Muslims have done to western civilization, and continue to do. But I don't think that will do any good as far as you are concerned, in my opinion. After all, according to you I am just a xenophobe.

This guy (Frank) is a loose cannon. What is wrong with people in MA.? This country is in BIG trouble because of people like him and many others like him. What is with all the giveaways? Frank is selfserving and is only interested in his economic welfare therefore he promises the lower end of society everything in order to get their political support . He gets to keep his job. This is the problem today with a majority of the politicians. They are not working for what is best for the whole country

Charlie, good post. Very well written and a good point though I'm still voting for Obama. Best statement you wrote: We live in a country in which a person can not be elected president if he (or she) openly doubts the existence of heaven and hell. Very profound
